The campsite:

Le Val de Trie is a picturesque family-run site set in woodland just 10 km from the bay of the Somme. The facilities are well maintained and include a heated swimming pool and paddling pool, a small shop and a bar/takeaway. Flat, grassy pitches are separated by hedges and mature trees, which provide some shade. Just 200m away is the site’s privately owned lake, ideal for fishing and the surrounding countryside is perfect for walking or cycling. There are many sandy beaches nearby and the medieval port of St Valéry and bustling town of Abbeville are just a short drive away. Val de Trie is a small cosy, peacefull campsite, with beautiful flowers, bushes and trees. 2 fanatastic swimmingpools with watermushroom and a small waterslide for the small guests. Play area and trampoline. Every week you can visit a real farm next to the campsite. The campsite owner is farmer!Children can see themselves how a cow will be milked and taste the fresh French milk!

Surroundings:
In Abbeville is a great base for exploring the Picardie coastline abound with bird sanctuaries, dunes, forests and marshlands. Fishing ports such as Le Crotoy are also close at hand and offer numerous opportunities for sailing, kayaking, kite-surfing or simply beach fun.
Despite being badly bombed during the second world war architectural delights still exist in Abbeville including the Eglise Saint-Sepulcre which dates back to the 15th century and the Collegiale Saint-Vulfran - a 13th century belfry and perhaps the oldest in France. The Musee Boucher-de-Perthes is also worth a foray and has an interesting collection of prehistoric artefacts and murals.
